Special attention will be given to surviving the tidal
wave with the help of unsinkable boats. These boats
are very expensive and only a group of people could
afford to pay for one.
If we are able to convince some of the present and future
owners to co-operate, thousands of people will certainly
survive. Count for yourself: 6,000 boats in total were
built in 2002. In 2012 there will be about 10,000. If
we are allowed to use a quarter of them, i.e. 2,500,
with an average of 4 persons aboard, then about 10,000
people would be able to escape from the tidal wave.
That is more than enough to start a new civilization.
Much will depend on the co-operation of ETAP
in order to get the addresses of the boat owners. Furthermore,
boat owners will have to be convinced to participate.
Most of them will possibly make an effort to survive
and will be in their boats on the ocean on that particular
date. In case they are not interested, we could possibly
borrow their boats. I am counting on some captains who
will motivate their colleagues to be a part of this
plan. Without any doubt, this is the most likely way
to survive.

Who is going to coordinate this?

We are a small group of ordinary people, from various
walks of life such as businessmen, secretaries, artisans,
health workers, etc that try to be aware of the state
of humanity and the earth, and, are concerned that the
current lifestyle we all enjoy, may not be sustainable
or even desirable.
We are looking at acquiring some land in a secure area,
where an alternative more harmonious lifestyle can be
lived, and whilst a harmonious lifestyle is the emphasis,
we want to cater even for major earth changes.
The farm we have made an offer on is over 200ha
in size, with a minimum height above sea level of 1910m,
however over 60% is mountain of up to 2500m. Other scenic
peaks within easy hiking distance are in the 2700m range
for those who enjoy mountaineering.
The farm has two streams running through it, some boreholes
with water pumps and an incomplete very basic house.
Once improved, we expect that some will want to live
permanently on the land, others to regard the farm as
a great holiday or retirement place, and some as a place
of refuge for troubled times. Others may consider our
plan as simply a great investment.
We are registering the property as a legal Trust and
invite those who like the concept to take a shareholding
in the Trust.
A share holding will entitle the shareholder to enjoy
camping, caravanning, and all the site’s facilities,
such as renting a cottage or other accommodation, enjoy
mountain hikes and nature. One share entitles one person
access to the farms facilities.
We calculate the farm could accommodate up to 150 people
in harmonious conditions. We may need to apply for re-zoning
of the farm to legally accommodate the dwelling required,
but have been informed by the agents, that up to 26
dwellings may be built under current legislation.
Terms and conditions of the offer are contained in the
‘Shareholders Agreement’ document, obtainable
on request.
For those wanting something more comfortable, we hope
to build attractive, eco friendly Rondavels of 10m diameter
(78m2), capable of comfortably accommodating 4 adults.
They will consist of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom equipped
with shower and washbasin, with a non-flushing eco toilet,
and basic kitchen. Solar powered LED lighting, but no
mains electricity. Running costs for your dwelling are
for the individual owners expense, and the farm levy
will be charged for use of communal facilities.
We plan to encourage the development of natural
crafts such as pottery, perma-culture, weaving, paper
making, etc.
Later we will look at the possibility of registering
the Trust as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO), we hope
this will facilitate those who live outside Africa,
to obtain residence permits as voluntary teachers to
the local indigenous and rural population, should they
wish to do so.
We at this stage can not give any guarantee to this,
however, 6 month tourist visas are not difficult to
obtain. Travel and visa arrangements are for each individual’s
responsibility.
We plan to stock several types of livestock, including
chickens, geese, sheep, horses and lamas. We also hope
to grow organic crops such as potatoes and the basic
grains, and introduce perma-culture for vegetables etc.
There is a lot of natural game in the area such as eland,
impala, etc.
But very important, it is our intention to build
strong High Altitude Buildings (HAB is a friendlier
name for bunkers). These will be made with reinforced
steel and concrete, to withstand what may be very harsh
conditions. We would use the HAB’s to stockpile
basic foods, fuels etc.
It is important that anyone taking a share of this project
is aware that this is a primary aim. The HAB’s
can also be used as short term accommodation. The stockpiling
is based on a four year contingency plan, the details
of which are available on request.
